Take A Gamble

By Victoria Myerscough @thebookthefilm · On June 6, 2019

Gaming has moved on apace over the last decade or so. What began with the manic fun that was Mario Kart and the like, has turned into highly skilled, thoroughly realistic gameplay that demands tactical thinking, creativity and teamwork. Far from playing with just one or two friends in your living room, you can join others across the world, as you link up through online platforms.

But online gaming isn’t just for kids and students the industry is huge and attracts more and more adults every year, particularly into the realm of online gambling. In this guide, we give you the low down on what gambling this way entails and how to make the most of it, without too many losses.

Where to Start

If you’ve enjoyed a bit of a flutter than online gambling is another way to indulge that interest without having to enter a casino, gaming centre or bookies. You can do it while you watch the TV, between jobs at work and on the train in the morning. At this point, we should say that if you’re in danger of becoming addicted then it’s time to get help. You should never bet any more than you’re prepared to lose and you should be able to walk away at any time.

If you are prepared to see it as a bit of fun and can gamble responsibly, then we recommend starting with something that you’re familiar with, three card brag for example.

Find a site that offers you a decent stake for signing up and let the fun begin. If you’ve never gambled online before then just look for a game that sounds fun, with low stakes. Bingo, blackjack, something like these are straightforward enough for a complete beginner.

Remember that the house is almost always going to win and though a little bit of luck can go a long way, you aren’t going to make enough money to give up work through online gambling. That’s why you’ll also need to make sure that any site you visit is also regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and not a front for taking your money and running.

Walk Away

When you can’t seem to hit your stride, it’s often the best time to walk away and have a break. Decide if it’s time to call it a day or give yourself a set number of turns.

The exhilaration of a win is a great feeling and while it may not happen all that often when it does it feels great. At that point, cash in your chips content in the knowledge that you’re up and luck has finally decided to take your side. Like Fortnite and Mario, gambling online is just for fun so treat it like the game it is and you never know you might just get enough for a rainy day.

Have a look around and choose something that looks fun to while away that boring commute and brings a little excitement into your day.
