Try these 007 signature James Bond Martini recipes and feel like a secret agent

  • In appreciation of the release of the 25th James Bond film, vonhaus share the best shaken, not stirred martini’s that you can make at home
  • From a Vesper Martini to a James Bond Dirty Martini, these alcoholic concoctions are guaranteed to make you feel like a secret service agent

The widely anticipated 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die, is finally in cinemas around the globe.

To help Bond fans feel like part of the secret service team, vonhaus has revealed the top three James Bond signature martini recipes you can replicate from the comfort of your kitchen.

How to make a Vesper Martini

Typically ordered shaken and not stirred, the now-iconic martini has paved the way for signature alcoholic ventures after James Bond ordered a rather peculiar martini. In the 1952 book Casino Royale, Bond orders a Vesper Martini – a fictional drink named after a double agent consisting of vodka, gin, and Kina Lillet.

Bond himself describes the perfect Vesper Martini recipe: “Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice-cold, then add a large slice of lemon peel.”

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • ½ ounce Lillet Blanc or dry vermouth
  • Lemon peel

Tip – if you use Lillet Blanc, add about 3 dashes of bitters to keep the same taste.

Method

  1. Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake thoroughly.
  2. Pour into a martini glass and as a twist of lemon peel.

How to make James Bond’s Vodka Martini Recipe

James Bond is known for drinking vodka martinis. Keeping things simple with a vodka martini, topped with a twist of lemon: the prominent drink is marvellously sharp. Known as a stronger drink, it is an acquired taste for the tastebuds but easily rectified by adding less or more dry vermouth to add a fruitier taste to your pallet.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of vodka
  • ½ to ¾ dry vermouth depending on your taste
  • Lemon twist

Again, add a few dashes of bitters if you like a more aromatic drink.

Method

  1. Shake up all the ingredients and pour into a martini glass
  2. Cut a thick slice of lemon peel and rub it on the edge of the glass before placing it in the drink.

How to make James Bond’s Dirty Martini Recipe

If you prefer a saltier taste to your alcoholic beverage, swap out the lemon twist for an olive just like Bond did in the 2015 film Spectre to create the James Bond Dirty Martini.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce dry vermouth
  • ½ ounce of olive brine
  • Olives to garnish

Method

  1. Shake up all the ingredients and pour into a martini glass.
  2. Garnish with a cocktail stick of olives.

When Bond isn’t saving the world, he’s fond of more down-to-earth refreshments. So, if martinis aren’t up your street, you can still feel like the secret service marvel by consuming a scotch and vodka, a vodka tonic, an Americano, or an Old-fashioned.
