Captain America 3 Goes Head to Head With Batman V Superman

By Victoria Myerscough @thebookthefilm · On March 13, 2014

When Warner Bros. announced it was pushing back the release of Batman V Superman to May 6 2016 we knew it would be going head to head with Marvel who had already called dibs on that date.

Now it looks like our First Avenger, Captain America will be the one going up against the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader in the superhero sequel showdown.

It’s a massive risk for both studios with tens of millions of dollars at risk over opening weekend.  While Marvel have the pedigree, you can’t help but think they’d be more confident if it were Tony Stark or the Avengers  fighting the battle, whereas Batman V Superman definitely has the anticipation factor.

There’s still plenty of time for each movie to run into ‘production difficulties’, so the question is, who’ll blink first?
