Battlefield 2042 – XBOX Gives Us A Glimpse Of The Future Of Gaming

By Louis Sherman · On November 2, 2021

On November 19th Battlefield 2042 launches and it looks to be a pretty big upgrade over Battlefield 5. It’s the first Battlefield for next-gen consoles and it looks to make the most of the next-gen power with genuinely photorealistic environments and incredibly fast gameplay. As part of the marketing and promotion for the game, Battlefield has teamed up with Xbox to give us a bit of a glimpse of how we could be playing in the actual year of 2042, take a look at the video below.

Now, we all know that by 2042 computer power will be several times more powerful than our current consoles and computers, although the 83,000 times more power this 2042 Xbox could have over todays Series X is probably a bit far fetched, however, they also talk about holographic gameplay and 480FPS – talk about silky smooth. Now this is all obviously a promotional advert, but it can’t help get us thinking, what could a PlayStation or Xbox be powered by and how powerful could it be in 2042? Let’s just assume the Battlefield running on those machines probably flies you right out to the war zone itself.
