One of those projects long languishing in development hell, DC/Wildstorm Comics’ Sleeper has seemingly been rescued by the producing partnership of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck for Warner Bros.
Not one of the best known comics out there, Sleeper ran for two years and finally came to an end in 2005. Following the life of Holden Carver (The Conductor), who can absorb and pass on pain to others. A complex character, he ends up switching sides to a criminal mob before undergoing an apostasy and playing both sides against the middle.
Variety reports that The Shield’s Shawn Ryan and David Weiner (The Killing) are on screenwriting duties.
Both Damon and Affleck have pretty full dance cards for the next few years so it will be unlikely they’ll provide us with that much anticipated reunion.
