Award season is making a brisk appearance yet again in the world of film and with the Academy Awards and BAFTAs out of the way, we’re turning our attention to the more film-goer friendly Empire Film Awards.
Voted by readers of Empire Magazine and ordinary film-goers alike, the Empire Awards have been held annually since its first debut in 1996. Boasting glitz and glamour, this year’s was said to be Empire’s most successful awards ceremony to date.
Empire follow the film award ceremony norm with its selection of “Best Supporting Actor/Actress Awards” but also credits its own categories with the Empire “Hero”, “Inspiration” and “Icon” awards. This year’s ceremony was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and hosted by Murphy’s Law and The Hobbit star James Nesbitt, with a grand spectacle of highbrow actors and actresses attending the event (Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson and Tom Cruise to name only a few!)
So, who were this year’s lucky few? Here are the full list of 2014’s Empire Awards Categories, Nominees and Winners!
