It looks like we could be in for another round of cheerleader saving as NBC’s Heroes has been commissioned for a 13 episode miniseries.
NBC trailed a teaser promo during it’s Olympics coverage on Saturday and creator Tim Kring has since confirmed that he will be executive producing 13 episodes due to air in 2015.

Whether the series will feature and of the original cast is yet to be confirmed but it would be difficult to see the likes of Quinto come back to the small screen. Originally running from 2006 – 2010, Heroes was a big hit for NBC, drawing in 16 million viewers in the States. It revolved around a group of people with extraordinary powers trying to come to terms with their abilities while avoiding the attentions of ‘The Company’.
After a successful first two season series it began losing both viewers and critical acclaim until it was finally put out of it’s misery at the end of season four.
The move to bring it back has certainly surprised most people in the industry and it will be entering a market saturated with super powered, alienated, misfits. But it is worth remembering that when Heroes got it right, it was one of the best around and here’s hoping that it is that version of Heroes that reappears on out screens in 2015.
