Games To Play When You’re Stuck At Home

By Victoria Myerscough @thebookthefilm · On October 29, 2020

Looking for some new games to take up your time this winter? Being stuck at home can be hard after a while and very quickly we run out of things to do to keep us occupied. However there are still lots of things that you can do at home to keep you occupied and today we plan to share those with you.

Whether you are an avid gamer or a casual one, here are some of the best games for you to play at the end of this year to help keep you happy and having fun all winter long.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

You’ve got to love the old classics, and none are quite as nostalgic as the Spyro games. Spyro is a little purple dragon with a dragonfly sidekick that goes on adventures to save his realm from the evil Ripto. Throughout the games you’ll be able to explore lots of fun places from a tiki inspired island to an underwater world with penguins. There are so many levels, challenges, and gems to collect that you’ll be occupied for hours! Oh, and watch out for the egg thieves!

Fall Guys

For those of us who have been online gaming during lockdown, fall guys is a fun party game to play with your friends and keep you occupied. Fall guys is a simple game that involves obstacle courses, races, challenges and levels. When you play this with your friends it will be fun to see which one of you manages to make it to the end!

F1 Race Stars

Whether you love racing games, NASCAR, or formula 1 – this game is one that is great to play as a family. F1 Race Stars is a cartoonish game that puts the world’s top racers against each other with courses that represent different countries of the world. Race as Lewis Hamilton or Jenson Button or any of the other racers from around the world and enjoy this whacky and sometimes frustrating ride.

Pokémon Go

If you are more of a casual gamer and look to play something on your phone during lockdown, Pokémon go is a great option for you. This game is a real world Pokémon hunting game that takes you around your local neighbourhood and the world looking for Pokémon. You can battle team rocket, take down gyms, and play with your friends to earn Mega Pokémon such as Charizard X and Y. It’s a game that will encourage you to get out in the world and stay fit, but will also offer you a lot from home.

GTA V Online

GTA V has been out since 2013, but this game is one that just keeps on giving. If you love GTA joining this online community is a great idea for your during lockdown. You’ll be able to spend your time doing missions with players around the world; completing heists with a crew of friends; building illegal businesses; and racing amazing cars. If you buy the Deluxo car you’ll also be able to fly around the map throwing missiles at any unsuspecting players in your session!

Assassins Creed Odyssey

The Assassins Creed games have long been a fan favourite for their backstory as well as their varied gameplay. Odyssey is an amazing addition to the rosta and brings with it a character who was an assassin before the assassin’s creed was even a thing. Play as Alexios or Cassandra and enjoy an intricate story that talks of Greek Gods, legends, and underground cults. This story will provide you with hours of gameplay and you’ll even be able to battle Medusa, cyclops, and the Minotaur.

The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us was a game that, when it came out, revolutionised the way gaming worked and the remastered version is one worth a play. The story of this game in short is that a parasitic mushroom has managed to infect humans, making them behave like zombies. Your job is to survive and take an immune child to safety where a cure can be found. The tense throb of worry that runs deeply throughout this game is enough to keep you hooked for hours.

Among Us

Trust your friends? Not anymore. Among Us is the latest of the games to sweep the world during lockdown and puts a group of friends up to 10 people in a spacecraft, completing tasks to try and stay alive. The only kicker is that some of your crew mates are imposters and their job is to murder and cover it up. When a body is discovered you are sent to a room to chat, and this is where things get ugly. If you love your friends, you might not love them after this!
