Some unexpected and not entirely welcome news from the Marel-verse. Director Edgar Wright (World’s End, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World) has left Ant-Man. (Source: Variety)
Both parties have stated that the split is due to creative differences (just like when a disgraced politician resigns to spend more time with their family).
Marvel haven’t stated who Ant-Man’s new director will be but it’s difficult to see them getting to grips with the project the way Wright has. After all, he’s been involved with the project for a number of years.
The release date of July 2015 is still on with pre-production pretty much complete and a cast of Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Patrick Wilson and Evangeline Lily.
Marvel’s not gone far wrong with it’s choice of directors thus far….we have to see if their luck holds.
