The Gist
When some highly stereotypical terrorists hijack a flight, Delta Force is called to affect a rescue.
The Review
Ah, Chuck Norris, everyone who grew up in the 80s will remember him. Dads love him, all dads. It’s the law or something.
Chuck and other all around hard guy Lee Marvin head back to our screens in a nostalgia laden, Arrow Video B-movie release The Delta Force.
A bit like The Expendables of its day, but with less people, because hey, Chuck Norris is nails and you don’t need any other action heroes cluttering up the place.
Led by Lee Marvin in his last screen appearance the Delta Force kick ass and take names with some expert head kicking and missile launching motorbikes.
The Verdict
Its as over the top and ludicrous as you remember it, and it’s wonderful. Plane hijacking and terrorism plots are handled with care in a post 9/11 society. But there’s no attempt at deeper social commentary here, just a set-up to let Chuck Norris do what he does best, and it’s refreshing.
The Blu-ray treatment brings you all the action in high definition and there are some informative featurettes which make this a neat little piece of 80s nostalgia to own.
